Biology on Tap

Biodiversity researcher and National Geographic explorer Dr. Iva Njunjić often gets asked how to discover new species. In this lecture she will explain that it is easier than you may think to discover new species for science, although it helps if you know the tricks of the trade. She will take the audience on a virtual exploration in caves, rainforests and the urban jungle and show how she lets lay people take part in those discoveries.

Evolutionary biologist and author Dr. Menno Schilthuizen admits to an obsession with animals’ naughty bits. This fascination is, however, fully scientifically justified, because genitals turn out be the organs that evolve the fastest of all organs. In this talk, based on his popular book Nature’s Nether Regions, he explains why this is. Prepare to be fascinated as well as titillated.
