Short talk by Karl Beerenfenger
Litter is turning public spaces into a museum of the future. We hope that in 100 years we will no longer find new disposable cups, cigarette filters and plastic bags. With its policies and initiatives for a cleaner living environment, the municipality of Leiden is a pioneer in the Netherlands. Leiden-born Karl Beerenfenger, one of the Netherlands’ leading experts on plastic soup, takes you on a litter time-travel journey: what did we find in the past, what do we find today, and what will (hopefully no longer) find in the future? And what can we do about it?
