Stories in paint | Create your own Giselle Kuster
Giselle Kuster spent the prime of her career in Leiden. In the
heart of the city, she established herself as a successful
artist and gallery owner, right in the midst of the turbulent
times of World War II. Today, her work is no longer as well
known. Over time, her story and a large portion of her
artworks have faded from view. To bring her back into the
spotlight, Museum De Lakenhal is searching for her “lost”
works—artworks of which we sometimes have an image, but
often only a title or description, and whose current
whereabouts are unknown. You can help with this search!
Let your imagination run wild with the titles and descriptions
we have for some of her works, and draw—guided by
professional artists—Two Women in Yellow, or Adam and Eve
in Pink-Red, or how about Symphony in Gray-Green? Plenty of
inspiration—let’s get started.
